OPEN MEETING FOR NEW MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC!
UW-Madison Professor of Botany Dr. Ken Cameron will take us on a journey to the Bourbon Islands for an in-depth look at the history and culture surrounding Vanilla - the orchid that provides the world's most popular flavor and fragrance.
Scott Elliott of Manecki Hill Orchids (Ellabell, Georgia) will be our featured speaker this month. Scott's nursery specializes in Catasetum and miniature Cattleya, among many other orchids. Scott's lecture will be in-person and we welcome him to back to Madison!
April brings one of the Guild's most important and enjoyable fundraisers - Chuck's Curated Orchid Auction! This will be an opportunity for Guild members to bid on some of the finest orchid species and hybrids available and personally selected by Chuck Acker.
May is a good month to divide and repot your orchids. It's also the month of spring cleaning! This month we will have a program focused on orchid potting mix and re-potting, along with our annual silent auction. This is our last formal meeting before summer break.
We will end the Guild's 2024-25 season with our annual members picnic. Location and Date will be announced in the Newsletter.
